Viral Video: Residents alarmed after seeing Hyena in Charholi preying on a stray dog

A hyena is seen wandering freely along a road in Charholi a video that has gone viral on social media. The hyena is seen in the video holding a stray dog in its mouth, indicating that it might be possible prey.

The hyena preyed on the stray dog on the road that led up to a crematorium in Charholi, where the incident happened. Local activists have reported the sighting to the forest department and are advising the public to use caution and stay off the streets at night.

Similar hyena sightings have been reported in Pune and its surrounding areas in recent months, so this sighting is not an isolated incident.

Several incidents of Hyenas appearing in Pune have happened since the beginning of 2024.

Another Hyena-appearing incident occurred in January 2024 in Pride World City on Dhanori-Lohegaon Road, creating an air of caution among residents –

The Pride World City society members claimed that they were alarmed after seeing a video a few days ago showing a hyena crossing the road and walkway from Pride World City to DY Patil College. They have since reported this unusual sighting to the forest department. But later on, the hyena vanished into thin air, leaving everyone puzzled.

There is a residential area and a college campus within a 100-meter radius, which makes the locals even more nervous.
