Pune : Residents Upset Over PMC Contractor's Poor Work Near Marvel Sangria and Dorabjee Paradise in Mohammadwadi, Trees Damaged
A road was newly constructed in Mohammadwadi which goes from Dorabjee Paradise to Marvel Sangria. However, citizens say that the trees at the side of the road are getting choked due to cement at the barks of the trees.
As per further information from X handle of user Khaikhasroo Irani “Pathetic planning of road work linking Marvel Sangria. They have cemented the barks of 50-year-old trees. How will rain water reach their roots.”

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Parveen Tambe, Founder Member, NIBM Undri Residents’ Forum, said “I have spoken to the PMC & the contractor regarding this. They have assured that they will create 1-foot-deep pits around the trees & keep the space around the trees open. I am constantly following up regarding this with the PMC. This work is lined up, which will be done. Along with this, drainage chamber work & other minor works are lined up. All will be done within some days.”
Gautam Gavand, PMC Road Department Official, said “The workers have been given instructions to immediately do the work where 1 to 1.5 feet open space will be left around all trees.”
