Vistara -Air India Merger: Over 2.7 Lakh Passengers Issued Air India Tickets
Over 2.7 lakh esteemed passengers who had secured reservations with Vistara for journeys commencing on or after November 12, 2024, are provided with new tickets for their travel with Air India.
Over 270,000 esteemed passengers who had secured reservations with Vistara for journeys commencing on or after November 12, 2024, the date of the airline’s integration into Air India, have been graciously provided with new tickets for their travel with Air India (AI).
“More than 2.7 lakh passenger reservations of Vistara have been migrated to AI. Over 45 lakh Vistara loyalty programme members are being migrated to AI loyalty programme. In all, there are over 140 systems, a majority of which have been migrated. A substantial commitment is being made to thoroughly enhance the experience of Vistara customers across all digital platforms following the merger,” informs Satya Ramaswamy, chief digital and transformation officer, AI.
He mentioned that the majority of the systems have successfully transitioned to AI, with only a handful still pending, which are expected to be completed by November 12 or possibly later.
The Tata Group has officially announced that for the upcoming months, passengers who have made reservations with Vistara will continue to enjoy the same exquisite travel experience. In other words, Vistara will maintain its commitment to providing an unparalleled travel experience, characterized by its luxurious aircraft, attentive crew, and exceptional onboard service.
Vistara flights will now be managed by Air India and will feature a unique four-digit code starting with the number ‘2’. For example, flight UK 955 will be rebranded as AI 2955. The tickets are available at www.airindia.com starting in November.
The routes and schedule for Vistara flights will remain unchanged. “We have transformed AI’s digital arena and for the first time, AI has filed for patents in this field. We are soon going to launch a one-click booking facility, instead of the multiple clicks required (across most airlines globally). While it is potentially possible to eventually have one website and app for AI and AI Express, that is not a plan as of now,” adds Ramaswamy.
