Waiter Dragged, Abducted Over Unpaid Bill in Maharashtra’s Beed
Three men allegedly assaulted and kidnapped a waiter after fleeing from an eatery without paying the bill.
In a disturbing incident in Maharashtra’s Beed district, three men brutally assaulted and dragged a waiter by car for nearly a kilometre after he asked them to pay for their meal. The altercation took place on Saturday along the Mehkar-Pandharpur highway in Dindrud when the men attempted to leave without settling their bill.
According to reports, Sakharam Janardan Munde and two unidentified companions dined at a local dhaba (roadside eatery). After finishing their meal, they requested a QR code scanner for online payment but allegedly fled to their vehicle instead of paying. When the waiter, Sheikh Sahil Anusuddin, approached them for the payment, they turned violent.
A heated argument broke out, and the trio assaulted Anusuddin before dragging him alongside their car for about a kilometre. The attackers also stole ₹11,500 from his pocket and blindfolded him. They took him to an unknown location, where they held him captive overnight, subjecting him to further physical abuse.
The next morning, the waiter was released in Dharur Taluka. A video of the assault captured on CCTV has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread outrage.
A case has been registered against Munde and his accomplices, and the police are actively investigating the incident. Efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects involved in the crime.
