Senior Police Inspector Vivek Mugalikar of Wakad police station alerts senior citizens

A two member gang, an Irani duo from Mumbai, disguised as local Wakad Police, have looted two senior citizens by handpicking their gold ornaments in the name of investigation for a murder case were nabbed by the police informed Wakad SPI Vivek Mugalikar.

According to the complaint registered at the Wakad Police station by the unnamed senior citizens who have been looted by the duo disguised as Policemen, the unknown duo travelled on their private vehicles with Police uniform and stopped the senior citizens. They alerted the senior citizens about a murder case in the surrounding and asked them to safeguard their ornaments in a bag. They carried the ornaments from the senior citizens and assured them of its safety with them by using tricks and ran away.

SPI Mugalikar, while talking to Pune Pulse said, “The mentioned theft is being investigated and we are searching for the duo. But, citizens need to be aware of such people and their actions. We do not ask you to remove any ornaments. People must first verify the details of the cops by not fumbling.”

The crime has occured because of the fear in the minds of citizens of the Police men, suggests a resident of Wakad, Tejaswini Dhomase, who is also working as a counsellor for Wakad Police station, she said, “A lot of efforts are being made to get citizens closer to the Police, yet such events occur. I am not fully aware of the incident, but people must first verify the Policemen or any other person before they agree to do things.”
