Wakad police seizes 24 kgs Cannabis
Wakad: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Wakad Police Station Anti Narcotics team arrested a person from Telangana state for selling Cannabis.
The accused, identified as Rahul Sawan Malke, aged 33 years, was found in possession of 24 kg 224 grams of Cannabis, along with Rs 3,50,000 in cash. The police acted on information received from a trusted informant and laid a trap.
Upon interrogation, the accused revealed that he had brought the Cannabis from Telangana state to Pune for sale. Further investigations are underway to ascertain the accused’s contacts in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. The accused has been booked under Section 8 (c), 20(b) (ii) (c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and has been remanded to police custody
