Pune: Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) commissioner Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal has assured to solve water and road-related issues in Wagholi on a priority basis.
A delegation led by Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Shirur constituency, Ashok Pawar along with representatives of Wagholi residential housing societies discussed water and road-related issues in a meeting conducted with Mahiwal on Friday, January 20.
Sharing details about the meeting, local MLA Ashok Pawar said, “Issues of Bakori road and Ivy Estate in Wagholi were discussed in the meeting. It was suggested that PMRDA should study the stay order given by the court in this particular issue and solve this issue as early as possible in a legal way.’’
Ashok Pawar also said PMRDA should complete the road construction work of Lexicon school to Gulmohar Primrose society road.
During the meeting, it was proposed that cement concrete should be completed on Wagholi to Lohegaon Road.
“All Wagholi residents are facing water scarcity issues throughout the year. Hence proposed water pipeline work from Vadu Budruk to Wagholi at a proposed cost of Rs 22 crores should be completed on an immediate basis. PMRDA should remove all hurdles in this work by discussing with residents and farmers.’’ said Prasad Kelkar, resident of Ivy Estate housing society.
On this, Rahul Mahiwal said, “Yes, we have discussed a range of issues including road and water supply. Some road issues are in court hence the delay. Some roads are in PMC limits. We will start work on such roads after getting NOC certificates from PMC. We will soon start tendering process for the roads within our limits.’’
As far as the water supply issue is concerned, more than 70 percent of the issue has been solved and the remaining issues will also be sorted out within the next three months, Rahul Mahiwal added.
