By March 31, the BWSSB has requested that all businesses, industries, residences, hotels, and restaurants install aerators in their taps to stop water leaks.

In order to prevent waste, BWSSB chairman Ram Prasath Manohar urged the public to install aerators at their homes as well. During a Tuesday meeting with the plumbers’ association office bearers, he stated that installing aerators can save water usage by 60% to 85%.

Manohar advised installing the aerators in commercial buildings, factories, and residential buildings between March 21 and March 31.

Should they miss the deadline, property owners will be responsible for paying for the installation of aerators by BWSSB’s approved plumbers. Aerators, according to BWSSB officials, will stop water from wasting in sinks, kitchens, and restrooms.

In the city, there are 15,000 licensed plumbers, according to BWSSB. To raise awareness of the advantages of incorporating aerators during the construction of new buildings, the board will host training sessions. The most aerator-installed plumbers will receive a certificate of appreciation from BWSSB.

The Water Board took the lead and installed aerators in its head office on Tuesday. It plans to install them in the other offices as well.

He urged people to voluntarily use aerators in accordance with a formal directive that will be issued. All taps used for cleaning, such as those in restrooms and handwashing sinks, as well as taps meant for hand and foot washing in public spaces like shopping centers, eateries, and offices, will be subject to this regulation.
