Pune: Continuous rainfall in the city for the last five days has brought relief to Pune residents as water stock in the four dams – Khadakwasla, Panshet, Warasgaon and Temghar has increased to 7.74 TMC.

Residents are heaving a sign of relief as this would fulfil the city’s water requirements for the next four months.

Till 8 am on Sunday, Khadakwasla received 32mm of rain while Panshet received 126mm, Warasgaon 126mm and Temghar 165 mm respectively.

“ The collective water stock in four dams was below 2.50 TMC on July 5. In five days’ duration, it has increased to 7.74 TMC. The stock is expected to increase more as Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Pune district which will bring more rain in the catchment area,” said Vijay Patil, executive engineer, Khadakwasla Irrigation Division, Pune.

Till 8 am on Sunday, Khadakwasla received 32mm of rain while Panshet received 126mm, Warasgaon 126mm and Temghar 165 mm respectively. As per the data recorded till 6 am on July 10, 2022, the water level at Khadakwasla stood at 1.15 TMC, Panshet stood at 2.97 TMC, Warasgaon at 3.14 TMC and Temghar at 0.47 TMC, total to 7.74 TMC.  The water stock during the same time last year stood at 8.66 TMC.
