As per the earlier status before the rains, the PMC had announced alternate day water cuts from July 4-11 due to the depletion of water level in the four dams – Khadakwasala, Panshet, Temghar and Warasgaon.

However, with Ashadi Ekadashi and Bakri Eid (Eid-Ul-Adha) falling on July 10th, PMC had decided to provide a regular water supply from July 8-11.

“Considering the water storage in all the four dams, water supply will be provided daily from July 11-26. Citizens should note that after July 26, the decision regarding water cuts will be taken after considering the water storage in the dams at that time,” said Aniruddha Pawaskar, Superintending Engineer, Water department PMC.

Pune city requires 1650 MLD of water every day.

Earlier the water cuts were announced by PMC as the city had not received rains in May and June. Since July 4, the city has witnessed showers every day.
