Water Supply to Be Shut Across Pimpri-Chinchwad on April 28; Low Pressure Likely Next Morning
Pimpri-Chinchwad, April 21, 2026:
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced a temporary disruption in water supply across the city due to scheduled maintenance work at the Nigdi Water Treatment Plant.
According to the civic body, the evening water supply on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, will remain completely shut in all areas of Pimpri-Chinchwad. Additionally, residents may face irregular and low-pressure water supply on the morning of Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
The disruption is being carried out to undertake essential civil and electrical maintenance and repair works at the Nigdi Water Treatment Plant and other related infrastructure. The water supply department stated that periodic maintenance is crucial to ensure uninterrupted and efficient functioning of the city’s water distribution system.
As part of the planned work, water supply from the Nigdi plant will be temporarily halted on April 28, impacting the entire city’s evening supply cycle.
Civic officials have urged residents to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the disruption period.
Chief Engineer Pramod Ombhase said that due to maintenance and repair work at the Nigdi Water Treatment Plant, the evening water supply on April 28 will remain suspended. He appealed to citizens to cooperate by storing adequate water and using it carefully. He also assured that efforts will be made to complete the work within the stipulated time and restore normal water supply at the earliest.
