Residents across Pune are advised to plan ahead as a large-scale water supply disruption has been announced by the civic authorities. Essential electrical and structural maintenance work has been scheduled at several key water treatment and pumping facilities, which will lead to a temporary shutdown of water supply in most parts of the city.

According to the Water Supply Department, on Thursday (29th), water supply will be completely suspended across Pune, excluding areas that receive water from the Bhama Askhed Dam. Officials have also clarified that water services will resume on Friday, but supply will be delayed and available at low pressure during the morning hours.

The Pune Municipal Corporation has urged residents to store sufficient water in advance and to cooperate with authorities during the shutdown and low-pressure supply period. Officials emphasized that once the maintenance work is completed, water supply will be restored gradually on Friday to ensure system stability.
