Weather Alert For January 1: Next 24 Hours Critical as Cold Wave Tightens Grip Over Maharashtra; IMD Issues Warning
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for cold wave conditions in 10 districts of Maharashtra as winter intensifies from the very first day of December. Due to a surge of cold northerly winds and the lingering effect of Cyclone ‘Ditwah’, temperatures have dropped sharply across several parts of the state, with some regions recording minimum temperatures as low as 8°C.

According to the IMD, the cold wave is expected to affect parts of North Maharashtra, Western Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha, while coastal Konkan and Mumbai will remain mostly dry.

Mumbai is likely to witness clear skies and dry conditions on Monday.
Maximum temperature: 31°C
Minimum temperature: 15°C
The Konkan belt is also expected to remain dry with no rainfall forecast.
Pune and Western Maharashtra Weather
Cold conditions have intensified in Western Maharashtra, with Pune placed under a cold wave alert.
Pune temperature forecast: Max 29°C, Min 10°C
Hill areas around Pune (ghat regions) have also been issued a Yellow Alert for cold wave conditions.
Marathwada Weather Update
Temperatures across Marathwada have dipped significantly.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar temperature: Max 29°C, Min 9°C

North Maharashtra to Record Single-Digit Temperatures
All districts in North Maharashtra are under cold wave alert, including:
Dhule
Nandurbar
Jalgaon
Nashik
Nashik Ghat region
Ahilyanagar
Nashik forecast: Max 28°C, Min 9°C
Vidarbha Witnesses Sharp Drop in Temperature
Cold conditions have also intensified in Vidarbha. On November 30, Bhandara recorded a low of 10°C.
Nagpur may experience cloudy weather with fog on December 1.
