Weather Alert For December 21: Cold Wave Set to Return to Maharashtra; IMD Issues Warning for These Districts

Maharashtra Weather Update:
Maharashtra is expected to witness a fresh spell of cold conditions, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a cold wave alert for parts of North Maharashtra. Nashik and Jalgaon districts are likely to be the worst affected, while minimum temperatures across the rest of the state are also expected to decline, intensifying the chill.
According to the IMD forecast for December 21, a drop in night temperatures is likely in several regions, leading to colder mornings and nights over the next few days.
Mumbai and Konkan Weather:
Mumbai city and its suburbs are expected to experience mainly dry weather. The minimum temperature is likely to hover around 18 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature may touch 32 degrees Celsius. Similar weather conditions are forecast for Thane and other Konkan districts, with no significant change in temperature levels.
Pune and Western Maharashtra:
In Pune and parts of Western Maharashtra, the intensity of cold is expected to ease slightly. A gradual rise in minimum temperatures is likely over the next few days. Pune’s minimum temperature is expected to be around 9 degrees Celsius, which may rise to 13 degrees Celsius by midweek.
North Maharashtra Under Cold Wave Alert:
A cold wave is likely to affect North Maharashtra, with the IMD issuing alerts for Nashik and Jalgaon. The minimum temperature in Nashik may drop to 7 degrees Celsius, while Jalgaon could see temperatures falling further to around 6 degrees Celsius, increasing cold conditions in the region.
Marathwada Forecast:
Cold conditions will persist in Marathwada on Sunday. However, a slight relief is expected from Tuesday and Wednesday, with minimum temperatures rising by around 2 degrees Celsius. Districts including Nanded are likely to experience similar weather patterns.
Vidarbha Weather Update:
Vidarbha will continue to feel the cold on Sunday. In Nagpur, the minimum temperature is expected to be around 9 degrees Celsius. Thereafter, temperatures are likely to rise gradually, bringing some relief from the prevailing cold. Similar conditions are expected across Amravati and other Vidarbha districts.
Changing Weather Patterns:
Over the past few days, Maharashtra has witnessed frequent fluctuations in weather conditions, with temperatures dropping sharply at times and easing intermittently. The IMD has advised citizens to stay prepared for sudden changes in cold intensity.
