Pune Cold Wave Returns: Minimum Temperature Drops to 8.1°C, Chilly Mornings Continue
Pune has once again witnessed a sharp dip in temperatures, bringing back the winter chill across the city. After a brief rise in minimum temperatures eased the cold a few days ago, the mercury has dropped again over the past two days, intensifying the chill, especially during early mornings.
According to weather officials, cold mornings, dry conditions, and clear skies have helped maintain the chill in the air, leaving residents feeling the cold bite. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that weather conditions are likely to remain stable for the next two days, which means the cold spell is expected to persist.
On Saturday (December 20), Pune and surrounding areas recorded a slight drop in minimum temperature, which settled at 8.1 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature was recorded at around 30 degrees Celsius.
Light fog was observed in some parts of the city during the early hours of Saturday. Throughout the day, clear skies and dry weather conditions contributed to a lingering coolness in the atmosphere. The IMD has stated that while the weather will remain stable for the next two days, a slight rise in minimum temperatures may be seen thereafter.
For Sunday (December 21), the minimum temperature in Pune and nearby areas is expected to remain steady at around 9 degrees Celsius, with the maximum temperature again hovering near 30 degrees Celsius. The sky is likely to remain mostly clear, with partly cloudy conditions possible during the afternoon and evening.
