Maharashtra Weather Update — The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast significant changes in weather conditions across Maharashtra in the coming days, including a cold wave in several districts. Many parts of the state witnessed cloudy skies today, with a noticeable drop in morning and night temperatures.
Cold Wave in Vidarbha; Yellow Alert Issued
Vidarbha continues to face a sharp dip in temperatures, with minimum levels sliding down to 9°C. IMD has issued a yellow alert for Bhandara, Gondia and Wardha, warning residents of an approaching cold wave.
Mumbai to Witness Colder Mornings
The week in Mumbai is expected to start on a chilly note. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 20°C today, which is likely to fall further to around 16°C by Thursday. Colder conditions are likely to prevail across the Konkan belt as well.
Pune Braces for Bone-Chilling Cold
Pune has already been experiencing a persistent cold spell. IMD indicates that the minimum temperature may dip to 9°C in the next two days, bringing intense winter chills for residents. On Sunday, the city recorded a minimum of 12°C.
North Maharashtra to See Further Temperature Drop
Districts in North Maharashtra are expected to experience an increase in cold conditions over the next two to three days. Nashik recorded 12°C on Sunday, and temperatures are projected to fall to 11°C by December 8.
Temperature Fluctuations in Marathwada
Marathwada is likely to witness a brief rise of 1°C in minimum temperatures on Monday, after which a drop is expected. IMD forecasts a minimum temperature of around 9°C, signalling an incoming cold wave in the region.
Cold Wave Intensifies in Nagpur Region
Nagpur experienced biting cold on December 7. Districts such as Bhandara, Gondia and Wardha remain under cold wave alert for Monday, according to IMD.
Cloudy Weather Clearing; More Cold Ahead
Cloudy skies have been observed in several parts of Maharashtra over the last two days. IMD states that once the cloud cover clears, temperatures will fall further, intensifying the cold across multiple districts.
Authorities have advised citizens to take necessary precautions as several regions brace for severe winter conditions in the coming days.
