Maharashtra Weather Alert

Maharashtra: A major weather shift has been observed across the state as March draws to a close, with the risk of unseasonal disturbances intensifying. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for multiple districts, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over the next 72 hours.

According to the forecast for March 30 onwards, 15 districts have been placed under a yellow alert, while five districts are under an orange alert, indicating a higher risk of severe weather conditions.

Districts Under Alert

Yellow alert has been issued for districts including Nashik, Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Beed, Latur, Solapur, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded, Dharashiv, Akola, Amravati, Gadchiroli and Nagpur.

Meanwhile, orange alert has been issued for Ahmednagar (Ahilyanagar), Solapur, Beed, Latur and Dharashiv, where weather conditions are expected to be more intense.

These regions are likely to witness thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and heavy rainfall accompanied by wind speeds of 30–50 km/h.

Region-Wise Weather Forecast

Konkan Region:
Cities like Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are expected to experience partly cloudy and humid conditions. Light rainfall may occur in isolated areas, while heat and humidity could increase discomfort. A yellow alert for thunderstorms has been issued in South Konkan from March 31.

Central Maharashtra:
Regions including Pune, Nashik, Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara are likely to receive thunderstorm activity with rain showers. Solapur and Ahmednagar remain under orange alert. Lightning and gusty winds are expected across the region.

Marathwada:
All districts, including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, are likely to be impacted by unseasonal weather. Orange alert has been issued for Beed, Latur and Dharashiv, while yellow alert remains for Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli and Nanded. Increased lightning and strong winds could pose risks to agriculture.

Vidarbha:
Districts such as Akola, Amravati, Nagpur and Gadchiroli are expected to see cloudy skies along with heat. Thunderstorms and lightning are likely in some areas.

Temperature Outlook

Maximum temperatures across the state are expected to range between 34°C and 40°C, while minimum temperatures may remain between 20°C and 25°C.

Advisory Issued

Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious during thunderstorms and avoid open areas during lightning activity. Farmers are advised to take necessary precautions to protect crops from potential damage due to strong winds and unseasonal rain.
