Kashyapi stated that a low-pressure area (LOW) is currently present over the Bay of Bengal (BoB). An off-shore trough is forming in the Arabian Sea (AS), the monsoon trough has tilted southward, and a shear zone is located at 20°N. Additionally, a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal around the 19th.
Due to these factors, heavy rainfall is expected to continue, with active monsoon conditions persisting. Kashyapi has warned that orange and red alerts for heavy rainfall are likely in the next 48 hours for various regions. In Pune city, rain is expected to be light to moderate over the same period.
This forecast underscores the importance of preparedness and caution as the state braces for continued monsoon activity. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather reports and heed any warnings issued by local authorities.
