On July 21, 2024, significant rainfall was recorded across various districts in Maharashtra, with predictions of continued heavy rains throughout the week. The latest satellite observations at 11 AM indicated widespread cloud cover over parts of central India and the southern peninsula, with organized cloud bands observed along the west coast from Gujarat to Karnataka.

Pune is expected to experience heavy rainfall throughout the upcoming week, according to the latest meteorological forecasts. Satellite observations indicate significant cloud cover over the region, with organized cloud bands spreading across central India and the west coast. Residents should prepare for intermittent downpours, as the weather patterns suggest a likelihood of sustained heavy rain, which could lead to potential disruptions and necessitate precautions.

In Parbhani District, the rainfall measurements in millimeters (mm) are as follows: Gangakhed received 3 mm, Dhalegaon 1.4 mm, Jintur 9 mm, Palam 6.4 mm, Purna 7.6 mm, Selu 10 mm, and Manvat 11 mm. Notably, rainfall data for Pathri and Sonpeth were unavailable. 

Sindhudurg District experienced heavy rainfall, with Dodamarg receiving 48 mm, Kankavli 82 mm, Malvan 22 mm, Kudal 77 mm, Mulde Agri 80.2 mm, Sawantwadi 112 mm, Devgad 40 mm, Rameshwar Agri 65.8 mm, and Vaibhavwadi 88 mm.

In Ratnagiri District, the rainfall was even more intense. Mandangad recorded 205 mm, Khed 102 mm, Dapoli 225 mm, Chiplun 105 mm, Guhagar 71 mm, Sangmeshwar 148 mm, Lanja 96 mm, and Rajapur 85 mm.

Nashik District saw varying levels of rainfall: Chandwad received 2 mm, Peth 21 mm, Igatpuri 75 mm, and Trimbakshwar 16 mm. Latur District reported Chakur with 22 mm, Latur 12 mm, Renapur 12 mm, Ahmedpur 11 mm, Nilanga 22 mm, Ausa 15 mm, Jalkot 22 mm, Deoni 16 mm, Shirur Anantpal 22 mm, and Udgir 49 mm.

Hingoli District’s rainfall measurements included Kallamnuri with 13 mm, Vasmat 7 mm, Hingoli 12 mm, and Aundha Nagnath 5 mm, with Sengaon’s data missing. In Sangli District, Jat received 2 mm, Walva 19 mm, Tasgaon 10 mm, Shirala 30 mm, Kadegaon 8 mm, Kavathe Mahankal 4 mm, Palus 6 mm, Kasbedigraj 15.4 mm, Miraj 9.5 mm, Kokrud 33 mm, and Sankh 1 mm.

Finally, in Satara District, Patan recorded 44.2 mm, Wai 15 mm, Khandala 3.4 mm, Karad 10 mm, and Javali Medha 5.2 mm.

The meteorological forecast indicates the possibility of moderate to intense spells of rainfall across Konkan, Goa, and the Vidarbha region, with particular concern for Mumbai and Thane, where moderate to heavy showers are expected over the next few days. Convection has been observed near Mumbai and North Raigad, suggesting intermittent rains along the west coast, including the Konkan region, over the next few hours. The sky over central India, including western Madhya Pradesh, adjacent Gujarat, and interior Maharashtra, remains partly cloudy.
