Weather Update : Arrivals and departures delayed at Chennai airport; 20 plus flights diverted to Bengaluru

Pune: Over 20 flights were delayed and two had to be diverted to Bengaluru due to heavy rains that started on Wednesday night and continued until Thursday morning in Chennai.
As per information, Chennai airport sources confirmed that Indigo Airlines flight from Delhi & Kolkata to Chennai has been re-routed to Bengaluru because of inclement weather. The flight from Delhi was scheduled to reach Chennai at 11:35 p.m., while the flight from Kolkata was scheduled to take off at 1:15 a.m.
Chennai airport experienced an average delay of 15 to 30 minutes for 20 scheduled flights, with a few flights experiencing delays of up to 45 minutes.
Similarly, 12 flights scheduled to leave Chennai airport were also delayed due to rains.
