Pune: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather warnings for Pune as well as Central Maharashtra, as the region experiences less cloud cover with moderately high moisture levels.

Shilpa Apte, Meteorologist from Weather Forecasting Division, IMD, Pune said, “The IMD stated that from North Kerala to North Central Maharashtra droniya resha (low pressure belt) has created and the air has moisture in it, due to which for the next five (10 to 14 April) these areas will see lightning, gusty winds, light rainfall. Yellow alert has been issued in Maharashtra and Marathwada for these five days. From April 11-16, 2023, the Pune city will experience clear sky in the day while in the evening it will remain partly cloudy and may experience light rainfall.”

In the next 72 hours, the IMD predicts that there will be minimal rainfall activities, with only isolated rain expected in Pune district. As a result, maximum temperatures are expected to rise gradually by 2-3°C during this period. However, there is no likelihood of a heatwave occurring in the next few days.

Residents and visitors to Pune and surrounding areas are advised to take precautions to stay cool and hydrated during the increasing temperatures.
