The Scorpio was reportedly heading towards Bhadbhidi Mokasa from Rampur after the wedding function when the collision happened. In the impact, five occupants of the Scorpio died on the spot, while six others sustained severe injuries and are currently undergoing treatment in nearby hospitals.

Preliminary information suggests that the vehicle was carrying more passengers than its capacity, with around 16 people travelling in it. The crash occurred at a bend near a drain, where the Scorpio is believed to have rammed into the oncoming bus, leading to a violent collision.

Local residents rushed to the spot immediately after the accident and helped shift the injured to hospitals. Authorities fear that the death toll could rise as some of the injured remain in critical condition.

The tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over the families, especially as the victims were returning home after a celebratory occasion. What began as a happy journey following a wedding ended in an unimaginable loss within moments.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident, including whether overloading and road conditions played a role.
