WhatsApp Introduces Low-Light Mode to Improve Video Calls
WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature to enhance its video calling experience called Low-Light Mode. Designed to improve video quality in dimly lit environments, this new mode reduces graininess in video calls, helping users connect more clearly with friends and family, regardless of lighting conditions.
Low-Light Mode is easy to activate. Users can enable it with just a toggle during video calls. Here are the steps to turn it on:
- 1. Open WhatsApp on your phone.
- 2. Start a video call.
- 3. Tap on the video feed to view it in full screen.
- 4. Click on the bulb icon at the top to enable Low-Light Mode.
To disable the feature, users just need to tap the bulb icon again. Notably, Low-Light Mode must be manually activated for each call, and it’s available for both Android and iOS users. However, the desktop version of WhatsApp does not yet support this feature.
In addition to Low-Light Mode, WhatsApp’s update also introduces new filters and background options for video calls. These options allow users to personalize their calls, adding variety and creativity to their video experience.
This latest update from Meta’s messaging platform addresses a common issue of poor visibility in low-light settings. By improving clarity and reducing graininess, Low-Light Mode aims to enhance the overall video calling experience, especially for those who frequently communicate in less-than-ideal lighting.
With these new features, WhatsApp continues to improve its video calling functionality, making it easier and more enjoyable for users to stay connected.
