A student from the Indian School of Business shared an Excel spreadsheet outlining the division of expenses following a gathering, which gained widespread attention for its professional handling of costs.

The student from Hyderabad has revolutionized the concept of bill splitting. Following a casual outing with her friends, Sneha, who studies at the Indian School of Business, shared an Excel sheet that meticulously outlined her friends’ expenses, capturing the attention of social media users everywhere.

Sneha took to X to share a picture of the comprehensive sheet, giving a shout-out to her Chartered Accountant (CA) friend for their hard work.

“My friends here in B-school went outside yesterday, and the CA in the group just sent this sheet with the split. Kinda love it,” she had said in her post.

The Excel sheet was truly remarkable. It organized the names of all friends along with their expenses and provided a detailed breakdown of the percentage each person was responsible for.

Additionally, it specified the exact amount each individual needed to contribute, eliminating any potential misunderstandings. This level of accuracy clearly reflects the expertise of someone with a financial background.

The post gained significant traction, and social media users were quick to share their thoughts. A number of them found humor in the notion of taking such a formal stance on something as informal as dividing a bill.

“This is why we need more CAs in our lives. Imagine the possibilities,” said one user. “This is taking ‘adulting’ to a whole new level. I can barely remember the tip, let alone this level of precision,” wrote another.

“No offense, but nowadays CAs’ favourite tool is Excel. It’s wild how a simple problem turns into a complex solution. Splitwise exists, you know,” shared another.

Sneha had shared her chat with her CA friend. “Bro, this hardly took me less than five minutes. Splitwise would’ve taken double the time and effort. Plus, more room for errors,” replied her CA friend.
