Protective Mesh Installation Drive Launched In Pune By MNS To Prevent Manjha String Accidents
Pune, January 14, 2025: With Makar Sankranti festivities in full swing, Pune has witnessed an increase in kite flying, particularly among the youth. However, the use of Chinese nylon strings, known for their sharpness, poses a significant risk to public safety, causing severe injuries and fatalities in past years.

To address this concern, the Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena, in partnership with Help Riders, had initiated a free protective mesh installation drive for two-wheelers. The mesh aims to shield riders from accidents caused by hazardous kite strings during the festive season.
The event took place at Jhansi Rani Chowk at 5 PM and was open to all two-wheeler riders. Organizers emphasized the importance of celebrating festivals responsibly while ensuring public safety.

This proactive step was sought to create a balance between joyous celebrations and the well-being of citizens, promoting awareness about the dangers of unsafe kite strings.
