Women need to learn self defense skills
The concluding ceremony of the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav was held at a banquet hall in Pimpri Chinchwad by Wakad Police station of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.
More than 75 different activities were planned out by the Wakad police station on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav. The programme concluded by organising a lecture and demonstration workshop for children and women on self defense. The programme was inaugurated by Krishna Prakash, Commissioner, Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate along with the members of Mahila Dakshata Samiti and Bharosa Cell.
Defense Sport Academy’s Arvind More demonstrated self defense skills for the people who attended the event. Krishna Prakash in his speech said that apart from being empowered women also need to learn self defense skills. The event saw huge participation of women and children from the neighbouring areas, members of Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Societies Federation. Police Sub Inspector Sangeeta Gade explained the activities held on spreading awareness on reporting the crime and injustice against women, children, senior citizens to the police for timely action on the culprits and averting any serious crime.
The programme saw presence of Shrikant Disale, assistant commissioner of Police, Wakad Police station Senior Police Inspector Dr Vivek Mugalikar, assistant police inspector Santosh Patil, Sangeeta Gade, Chaya Borkar, Kavita Rupnawar, Suvarna Kadam, Hira Thakur, Sharda Choksey, Seema Thakur, Anagha Ghatole, Tejaswini Dhomse Sawai, Mina Sasne, Haseena Shaikh, Veena Kondekar, Archana Bhalerao, Supriya Pawar, Bhagyashree Mhaske, Pradnya Prakash, Supriya Kate, Asha Kakade, Archana Lagad and others.
