100 yr old Banyan tree from Hadapsar replanted in Satara’s Mhasve village

More than 100 years old, this Sahyadri Devrai has been successful in replanting a Banyan tree from Hadapsar in Satara city.

Sahyadri Devrai is all set to celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14 with this tree at Satara in Mhasve village (near D Mart) between 4 pm to 6 pm said actor and Sahyadri Devrai founder Sayaji Shinde.

Shinde said that this tree was taken over from the owner who had disowned it was planning to cut it. When we came across this incident we decided to scientifically replant it. We took over a truck to be able to transport this huge tree to Satara and replant. All nature lovers, tree enthusiasts, will celebrate Valentine’s Day with this tree. The charges incurred on replanting process of the tree was Rs 25,000. The tree was replanted with full respect on January 26, 2022. The tree now bears new leaves and we are happy that we could save a century old tree successfully.

Trustee of the organisation, Dhananjay Shedbale said the program on February 14 is aimed at spreading a message that trees must be saved. Trees like Banyan are sacred and it is also our national tree. Every year we celebrate Valentine’s Day with trees with the aim of preserving them. Pansare Nursery from Shrigonda helped us to successfully replant it.
