Approximately 120 passengers were left stranded at the new terminal building of Pune airport on Thursday after Air India Express flight I5 320 was canceled due to a technical issue. The passengers were informed about the cancellation after having sat in the aircraft for over two hours.
Reports indicate that passengers arrived at the airport around 2 pm for their 4 pm flight to complete the check-in process. They then waited inside the aircraft until 6 pm, at which point they were informed that the flight would not depart due to the unresolved technical issue. Among the passengers were over 50 women. Despite repeated inquiries, airline officials eventually informed them that the flight would depart the following day.
One passenger explained that they were onboard the Pune-Bhubaneswar Air India Express flight I5 320 from 2 pm to 4 pm before being asked to deboard due to the technical problems. Another stranded passenger, Sandeep Jawalekar, voiced his frustration on social media platform X.

Chaotic scenes ensued at the terminal as many passengers were left without alternative flight options, with other airlines fully booked. The airline took considerable time to confirm that the issue could not be resolved and that the flight would be rescheduled for the next day.

Santosh Dhoke, director of Pune airport, confirmed the cancellation and stated that the airline would arrange accommodation for the passengers, with the flight rescheduled to depart the next day.
