300 residents hold protest to demand basic amenities in NIBM area

300 residents from Anandvan Parisar Resident Forum area ahead of NIBM road in Kondhwa came together with demand of water, roads and sewage lines.

On Sunday, March 13, over 300 residents from NIBM road annexe area, comprising from 23 societies took part in the protest.

Anandvan Parisar Residents Forum, an informal association of over twenty three societies from NIBM Annexe area
had organised the protest to raise various common issues pertaining to the area. Problems such as inadequate Pune Municipal Corporation water supply, sewage lines and reducing the sharp gradient of the road approaching to Anandvan from NIBM road and its widening.

Despite raising the issue for the last so many years, the problems remained the same in the neighborhood.

Vrushali Nevse, a resident of Raheja Vista Premiere said, “I am living in the area for the last one year. But ever since then we have been waiting for water supply. Tanker water is deteriorating our health.”

President of Anandvan Parisar Residents Forum, Nitin Bokey said, “We have been struggling to get basic amenities in the area. Water supply, sewage lines, better roads, streetlights, security are some of our basic amenities. This protest was organised to bring to the notice of the Pune Municipal Corporation administration.”

Fatema Bismillah, president, Raheja Vista Phase 2 said, “Most of our maintenance money is being used in procuring water tankers because we don’t have PMC water. The quality and hygiene of the tanker water is comprised at many times which affects health of all.”

A resident of Raheja Vista Premiere Iona Noronha said, “Our area is so beautiful but lacks basic amenities. Our approach road lacks proper alignment. The water tankers, cement mixers plying on the road are worsening it’s condition. Our basic demands should be accepted. It’s our right to get these services.”

The protest was held on 13 March 2022 from 9 am to 12 noon at the area next to Anandvan Nine Hills Gate, NIBM Annexe.
