15 Injured After Lighting Girder Collapses At Holi Event On Koregaon Park-Mundwa
Pune | March 3, 2026 – A major accident occurred during a Holi celebration in Pune after a lighting girder collapsed at an event venue on the Koregaon Park–Mundhwa Road. The incident took place at Royal Farm, where a large Holi programme had been organised.
According to preliminary information, around 15 to 16 young men and women were injured when the lighting structure suddenly gave way and fell onto the crowd. More than 1,000 people had reportedly gathered for the event, which was organised by a private company as part of Holi festivities.
As per media reports four of the injured have been admitted to Sasoon General Hospital for treatment, while others sustained minor injuries.
Holi is being celebrated with enthusiasm across Maharashtra and the country, with several events organised in different cities. However, this incident has cast a shadow over the celebrations in Pune.
Senior Police Inspector Smita Wasnik from Mundhwa Police Station said that police personnel are present at the spot and necessary action is being taken.
Further investigation is underway.
