2000 kg Nashik grapes used to decorate Dagdusheth Ganpati temple

On occasion of the Sankashti Chaturthi, Pune’s famous Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati temple was decorated with 2000 kgs of Nashik grapes. The temple premises looked as if Lord Ganesha was sitting in the grape orchard.

A total of 2000 kilograms of exportable fruits which consists of green and black grapes grown by the farmers from the Nashik area were offered to the deity by Nashik based Sahyadri Farmers Producer Company. These grapes will be later given as offerings to devotees, orphanages and old age homes.

Many devotees captured the beautiful decoration in their mobile phones.

Considering the traffic and Shiv Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti from evening the roads from Shaniwar Wada were blocked for vehicle movement.  

A devotee said, “Today it was Sankashti Chaturthi, a special occasion for many devotees and hence the temple premises were decorated. Thousands of people queue up to seek blessings of their favourite Ganpati Bappa.”
