A 24-year-old man distributing milk lost his life after being struck by an SUV allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy in Mumbai’s Goregaon area early Thursday morning. The accident occurred around 4 am when the speeding Mahindra Scorpio, reportedly coming from the wrong side of the road, collided with the victim’s two-wheeler.

The teenage driver attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended after his SUV crashed into an electric pole. He sustained injuries during the crash, which led to his capture by the police. The victim, identified as Navin Vaishnaw, was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police have arrested the 17-year-old driver along with two others, including the SUV’s owner, Iqbal Jivani (48), and his son, Mohammed Faz Iqbal Jivani (21). The SUV was seized with the help of CCTV footage, and the teenager’s blood samples have been sent for testing to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Authorities are also investigating whether the teen had attended a party before the crash. This incident bears similarities to a case in Pune, where a 17-year-old allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol caused a fatal accident, killing two IT engineers. The Pune incident sparked public outrage after the teen driver was granted bail under lenient conditions.
