4,575 officials appointed by MSEDCL Pune for a safe Ganesh Visarjan celebrations

Pune: In order to facilitate a safe Ganesh Visarjan, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited ( MSEDCL) has appointed 4,575 engineers, technical staff, and contractors to carry out repair works. The devotional fervour has increased and people are excited to see the vivid decorations and lighting set up by the Ganesh mandals. During this, the system under the Pune circle of Mahavitaran has been kept ready for smooth power supply and power security. The officials have been appointed in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad city as well as in Mulshi, Velhe, Haveli, Ambegaon, Junnar, Khed, and Maval talukas. Mahavitaran has requested that special precautions should be taken for electrical safety during the Ganeshotsav and Visarjan processions.

Rajendra Pawar, Chief Engineer, MSEDCL Pune said, “In addition to smooth power supply, maintenance and repair measures have already been taken to keep the power distribution system in public places safe in the presence of lakhs of devotees. Mainly during the immersion procession, engineers, employees of Mahavitran as well as office bearers and workers of Ganesh Mandals should be alert and aware about electricity safety. Also, all the citizens should maintain a proper safe distance from the electrical system.”

As per further information from MSEDCL, in Ganeshotsav, Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar is continuously reviewing the power supply. Also, measures have been taken for electricity safety. In this, before Ganeshotsav, electricity systems were inspected and maintenance and repair works have been carried out at public Ganesh mandals and routes where a large number of processions take place. The feeder pillars are nailed to prevent citizens or children from climbing the feeder pillars in crowded places or on procession routes.

A team of engineers and staff will be available with mobile vans and necessary equipment during immersion processions. A temporary control room will be set up in the Modi Ganapati area for immersion processions on important Lakshmi Road and Tilak Road in the city. Engineers and employees are being specially appointed at this place. This room will remain functional till the end of the procession.

Also, the staff of Mahavitaran will monitor the public Ganesha Mandals’ immersion procession route to ensure that devotees stay at a safe distance from high and low-pressure power lines, feeders, etc. Children and citizens should not climb on or support the power grid or feeder pillar to watch the processions and should discourage anyone from trying to do so. Also, while standing in the tractor trolley and hoisting tall flags, Mahavitaran has appealed to be careful of the overhead power lines.
