After his entry into AAP, Vijay Kumbhar is setting an example on how Aam Aadmi Party’s mohalla clinic system in Maharashtra can work through a new age cervical cancer screening test camp for Women.
First camp was conducted by renowned Ngo by utilizing patented AI based cervical cancer screening scope, at Yamuna nagar vasti in Viman nagar, Pune. Vijay Kumbhar briefed Aap’s health model for women in Maharashtra along with Dr. Sharda Bapat. Dr. Sharda explained why such cancer screening tests are essential to prevent serious cancer issues at later stages in a woman’s life and why such health awareness and health policies should be made at government level.

Vijay Kumbhar who has been instrumental to the initiative of first women’s toilet campaign through his RTI in 2007 in PMC, emphasized on using modern technology for women’s health as well public health through Mohalla clinic initiative. In a state where Women’s health policies are focused only around pregnancy, AAP will be taking care of such critical and sensitive tests, he shared. Each and every screening test case will be analysed by experts and further guidance on treatments needed will be given by Ngo which organized the event .

Over 75 women were tested after counselling and awareness. It brought a smile to their faces when they realized a political party can take care of such a sensitive health initiative. Shrikant Acharya, Vaishali Parkhe, Ganesh Dhamale, Abhijeet Pardesi and many volunteers were present along with women from other areas who are keen on conducting similar health camps in Pune.
