Residents complain that potholes, boulders and rubble have been left to lie on the road which is causing inconvenience.

Pune: Residents of 9a road at Kalyani Nagar are disappointed. They have been requesting the Pune Municipal Corporation authorities to complete the resurfacing work of their road near Jogger’s park but to no effect. The road concrete work has been pending for more than two and half months, after it was dug in the centre to solve the water drains problem.

Residents complain that potholes, boulders and rubble have been left to lie on the road which is causing inconvenience. They allege that the work has been delayed due to G20 summit preparations and the other side of the road has been repaired.

Robin Azavedo, a resident of Kalyani Nagar said, “This excuse of G-20 came very late. Initially we were waiting for the sanctioning of tender to tar work on the road. But then they had completed another road but the work of our road is still pending. At least if they lay one coat of tar, the mess and dust will be avoided.”

Reacting to this, Dattatray Thombare, junior Engineer of PMC said, “On an emergency basis we had to work on repair and maintenance of roads for the G-20 summit. Once the G-20 summit is over, we will be working on this road. We have laid stones on the road, only finishing work of the road is pending. However, the process to pass the tender is on.”
