Mumbai, Aug 20: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar assured a ₹15 crore allocation for the land acquisition required to complete the remaining work on the Bhangarwadi-Nangargaon railway flyover in Lonavala.

Despite being a popular tourist destination, Lonavala and Khandala require improved infrastructure to cater to the influx of visitors. Pawar instructed senior officials to expedite projects, including a 5 MLD water purification plant for Khandala and sewage treatment plants at nine locations in Lonavala.

During a review meeting at his committee office, attended by several high-ranking officials, Pawar emphasized the urgent completion of the flyover and associated road work.

Additional instructions included providing express feeders to resolve power issues in industrial areas and appointing the heirs of sanitation workers to Class IV positions in the municipality.
