The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has taken swift action following numerous complaints from residents of Sector No. 12 in Bhosari. The grievances, primarily from flat owners of projects built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, highlighted defects in various aspects of the housing projects.

The issues reported by residents included problems with bathrooms, toilets, terraces, solar water lines, and drainage systems. To address these concerns, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase convened an emergency meeting with contractors and officials.

During the meeting, Dr. Mhase directed contractors to rectify the defects within a month. He warned that failure to meet the deadline would result in punitive and legal actions, as outlined in their contracts. Additionally, third-party inspections and certifications will be mandatory to ensure the quality of the work.

The PMRDA will also investigate officials responsible for overseeing the projects, taking action against those found negligent. “We’ve ordered an inspection of the Sector 12 housing project. If residents’ complaints aren’t resolved within a month, further legal action will follow,” Dr. Mhase stated to the media person.
