In a startling incident, a live snake was discovered in the AC 2-tier coach of the Vasco-da-Gama Weekly Express traveling from Jharkhand to Goa on October 21. Passengers captured videos of the reptile slithering near the curtains of the lower berth, prompting immediate action.

Incident Details and Passenger Reactions
Ankita Kumar Sinha, whose parents were traveling in the affected coach (A2 31, 33), reported the incident on social media platform X. Sinha urged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for urgent intervention, stating, “Snake found in Train -17322 (Jasidih to Vasco De Gama) on berth. Please take immediate action.”

Footage shared by passengers shows a man, assisted by IRCTC staff, using a bedsheet to capture the snake before removing it from the berth. The passengers could be heard discussing the possibility of throwing the snake off the train, although the fate of the reptile remains unclear.

This incident mirrors a similar occurrence last month when passengers aboard the Garib Rath Express from Jabalpur to Mumbai were shocked to find a snake coiled around an upper berth. That situation caused widespread panic, leading to the relocation of passengers to another coach and the detachment of the affected coach, which was sent back to Jabalpur for further inspection.

Conclusion
Such incidents raise concerns about passenger safety and the need for enhanced measures to prevent wildlife from entering train compartments. As the railway authorities investigate further, passengers are reminded to remain vigilant and report any unusual sightings immediately.
