Pune: BJP's Madhuri Misal Defeats NCP-SP's Ashwini Kadam by 54,660; Consecutive Win in Parvati Constituency
Sitting MLA of the Parvati constituency, Madhuri Misal, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has achieved victory for the fourth time in a row, defeating Ashwini Kadam, the candidate from the Nationalist Congress Party Sharad Pawar (NCP-SP), by a significant margin of 54,660 votes.
Despite receiving support from veteran leader Sharad Pawar and facing anti-incumbency sentiments against Misal, Misal managed to secure a decisive win. This victory marks her fourth term as an MLA.
In Parvati, as in several other constituencies, voters showed their preference for the Mahayuti alliance. With 3.54 lakh registered voters and a turnout of 55.26%, the electoral conditions favored Misal. Additionally, she benefited from the support of Shrinath Bhimale, who withdrew his candidacy to campaign for her. Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol also backed her campaign. Following her remarkable achievement, Misal’s supporters are now urging that she should be appointed to a cabinet position.
