Grand Celebration of KavyaShilp's Annual Gathering in Pune!
The annual gathering of KavyaShilp, a 52-year-old organization dedicated to Marathi poetry, was celebrated with great enthusiasm on December 8 at the Swatantrya Savarkar Adhyasan Kendra, Pune. The first session was chaired by renowned poet, translator, and former All India Radio Deputy Director, Dr. Sunil Devdhar.
Swati Yadav, the president of the organization, highlighted KavyaShilp’s significant contribution to the field of poetry, particularly in providing a platform for budding poets. She also shared details about the poetry presentation initiative launched for school-aged children.
The event featured a vibrant members’ poetry session and a cultural showcase celebrating Marathi literary traditions. The audience was treated to a diverse display of literary talent through various performances.
Dr. Sunil Devdhar mesmerized the audience by revealing the beauty of words in both Marathi and Hindi. In the subsequent session, the prestigious “Kavyamitra Award” was presented to Shri Vijay Kolte, President of Acharya Atre Vikas Pratishthan, Saswad, by senior poet Asawari Kakade. The award included a memento, shawl, and coconut.
Expressing his gratitude, Kolte said, “It is a pleasure to receive this award from an organization that has worked for years in the poetry domain.” Asawari Kakade expressed satisfaction, stating, “This award rightly honors an individual who has contributed to 41 poetry conventions and successfully led the 87th All India Marathi Literary Conference in Saswad.”
The KavyaShilp gathering team, led by president Swati Yadav and secretary Rajshree Sole, worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s success. Ashok Bhambure delivered the vote of thanks.
