Pune Airport is set to launch the Digi Yatra service at its new terminal, offering a seamless and tech-enabled check-in process for passengers. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) had introduced the Digi Yatra system at the airport on March 31, 2023, but several passengers raised concerns over malfunctioning Digi Yatra machines at the new terminal building. These technical issues have now been resolved, allowing the service to operate smoothly.

Pune is now the fourth airport in India to implement the Facial Recognition System (FRS) as part of the Digi Yatra process, which enhances security and check-in efficiency. This system has previously been introduced at Delhi, Varanasi, and Bengaluru airports.

Santosh Dhoke, the director of Pune Airport, confirmed the resolution, stating, “The new terminal is now fully operational, with most flights already departing from here. Digi Yatra machines have been installed at the departure gates, and the glitches have been fixed. The Digi Yatra service will soon be available for passengers.”
