Beware of Fraudulent Investment Schemes: Pimpri-Chinchwad Cyber Police Issue Advisory
Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has issued a public advisory through its Cyber Crime Department, urging residents to be cautious of increasing financial frauds linked to Share Market, Forex Trading, and Crypto Investments. Fraudsters are targeting homemakers, working professionals, and senior citizens via WhatsApp and Telegram, luring them into fake investment schemes by promising high returns. Sandeep Doiphode, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Pimpri-Chinchwad issued the advisory.

Several complaints have been filed with the Cyber Police, highlighting how scammers use fake companies and online platforms to deceive individuals. These schemes involve adding potential investors to Telegram or WhatsApp groups, showcasing fake screenshots and messages of profits, and even presenting counterfeit SEBI certificates to gain trust.
SEBI has warned investors to exercise caution and consult financial advisors before investing in Share Market, Forex Trading, Crypto Investments, or Mutual Funds.
Precautionary Measures:
- Do not trust promotional ads on Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp promising high returns.
- Avoid downloading unauthorized applications or clicking on unknown links.
- Always verify the authenticity of investment platforms.
Residents are encouraged to report frauds to their nearest police station, the Cyber Police Station, or via the helpline at 1930 or the official portal www.cybercrime.gov.in.
