Pune: The old terminal at Pune Airport is set for demolition, with plans for redevelopment into a modern facility unveiled by Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol and Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation. The announcement was made on Tuesday, signaling the next phase of infrastructure enhancement at the airport.
The decision follows the inauguration of the new integrated terminal building (NITB) last year, where most airline operations have now shifted. The old terminal will soon be cleared to pave the way for a redevelopment project aimed at addressing the airport’s growing passenger traffic and operational needs.

Enhancements will also feature a revamped security check area equipped with advanced screening technologies such as Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs) and X-ray machines for quicker and more secure checks.
