Pune, January 22, 2025 – The Swargate police have successfully arrested a man, Satish Gyaneshwar Shirole (32), involved in a series of mobile phone thefts in Pune. The police action followed a tip-off about suspicious activities at the Swargate PMPML bus stop.

At around 8:00 AM on January 22, 2025, while conducting a routine patrol, a police team noticed a man acting suspiciously in the crowd at the Swargate PMPML bus stop. Upon approaching him, the man tried to flee, but the police quickly apprehended him with the help of staff. After confirming his identity as Satish Shirole, they found three mobile phones—one Vivo, one Redmi, and one Oppo—on him.

Further questioning revealed that Shirole had stolen the phones from passengers at Swargate bus stops and from areas around Pune station. He confessed to having stolen the Vivo phone last month from a woman boarding a bus at Swargate PMPML bus stop, and the other two phones in the Pune station area.
