Pune: Passengers at Pune Railway Station have raised serious concerns over the sale of stale and foul-smelling food by IRCTC fast food stall vendors, putting travelers’ health at risk. The issue came to light after representatives from a commuter group confronted a stall vendor about the poor quality of food being sold. Instead of addressing the concern, the vendor allegedly argued with them.

According to a video shared by the Pune (Gramin) Railway Passenger Group, when the vendor was asked to eat the same food to prove its quality, they refused and instead discarded it in the trash, confirming its inedibility. The group has strongly demanded strict action against such vendors to ensure food safety at the station.

Following the viral complaint, IRCTC responded, asking passengers to share details such as PNR, mobile number, and platform number via direct message for further investigation. The passengers also met the IRCTC personnel but did not get an appropriate response.
