Bank Holiday Today in Maharashtra for Id-ul-Fitr; RBI Ensures Smooth Year-End Transactions

Pune, March 31: Banks across Maharashtra, including Pune, are closed today in observance of Id-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The holiday falls as part of the nationwide schedule of bank closures, affecting various states on different days.
Despite the holiday, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has instructed all agency banks handling government transactions to remain operational. This directive ensures seamless financial activities, particularly as the fiscal year comes to a close.
Following today’s holiday, banks will also remain closed on April 1 for their annual account closing procedures. On this day, financial institutions restrict public transactions to finalize their yearly records.
Customers are advised to plan their banking activities accordingly, keeping in mind the scheduled closures. While digital banking services remain functional, those requiring in-person services should check with their respective banks for any additional updates.
