As time ticked away and the final bell approached, luck finally turned—the eagle dropped the hall ticket. The candidate grabbed it and rushed into the exam hall just in time.
In a truly unexpected moment straight out of a movie, an eagle swooped down and grabbed a candidate’s hall ticket just moments before a Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) exam began, leaving hundreds of onlookers stunned.
The incident occurred on the morning of April 10, 2025, at the Government UP School in Kasaragod. A candidate, who had arrived early to revise before the 7:30 a.m. exam, had placed his hall ticket beside him when the eagle suddenly descended, snatched the document in its beak, and flew up to perch on a high window above the parish hall.
The spectacle left the candidate and nearly 300 others in disbelief, watching helplessly as the bird sat calmly with the hall ticket still in its grip. Despite suggestions from the crowd to scare the eagle away or throw stones, the candidate chose not to risk it, worried the eagle might take off with the ticket for good.
As time ticked away and the final bell approached, luck finally turned—the eagle dropped the hall ticket. The candidate grabbed it and rushed into the exam hall just in time.

Officials later confirmed that no exceptions are made for missing hall tickets, meaning the candidate would’ve been barred from taking the test had the eagle not released it. While the identity of the candidate remains unknown—he avoided speaking to media—video footage of the bizarre incident has gone viral on social media, sparking amusement and disbelief online.

“That student’s stress got diverted. Now he’ll write the exam with even more confidence,” says one user.
“Imagine explaining to your parents why you didn’t take the exam—‘An eagle stole my hall ticket!” says another user.
