Toll Waiver Announced for Tourists Attending Mahabaleshwar Tourism Festival 2025
Free toll, cultural showcases, and gifts await visitors from May 2–4 as Maharashtra gears up for a grand tourism celebration.
In a bid to boost tourism and footfall at the upcoming Mahabaleshwar Mahaparyatan Mahotsav 2025, the Maharashtra government has announced a toll waiver for all tourists visiting Mahabaleshwar during the festival dates, May 2 to May 4. Sub-Divisional Officer Rajendra Kachre shared this update during a review meeting held at the Honey Directorate Hall in Mahabaleshwar.
The three-day mega tourism event, conceptualized by the state’s Tourism Department, will be formally inaugurated by Governor CP Radhakrishnan, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar in attendance on Day 1.
The festival promises a vibrant lineup of activities:
- May 3: A traditional cultural procession will grace Sabne Rasta.
- May 4: The closing day will feature enthralling performances of Lavani, Gondal, Jagar, and Dhol Vadan, with Eknath Shinde expected to be present.
As an added attraction:
- Free gifts will be distributed to visiting tourists.
- More than 100 decorative tents will be set up, inspired by the famous Kutch setup in Gujarat.
- Adventure games and water sports will be available at Venna Lake.
- A special symposium featuring tourism experts, agents, and guides from across India will focus on the state’s tourism potential.
- There will be a thematic presentation on the history and tourism value of Maharashtra’s forts.
Officials believe the toll and parking fee waivers, along with the engaging lineup, will significantly enhance the visitor experience. Hanumant Hede from the State Tourism Development Corporation, Tehsildar Tejaswini Patil, Chief Officer Yogesh Patil, and other senior dignitaries were present at the planning session.
With preparations in full swing, Mahabaleshwar is set to welcome a surge of enthusiastic tourists looking to experience Maharashtra’s rich heritage, natural beauty, and warm hospitality.
