New Delhi: In a significant diplomatic initiative following Operation Sindoor, the Indian government has formed seven multi-party parliamentary delegations that will travel to major global capitals to represent the country’s unified stance against terrorism.

This outreach marks the first instance of Members of Parliament from across the political spectrum being deputed to deliver a coordinated international message on India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, particularly in light of recent Pakistan-backed attacks.

Each delegation will be headed by a prominent MP, with the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs confirming the inclusion of leaders like Shashi Tharoor (Congress), Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP), Sanjay Kumar Jha (JDU), Baijayant Panda (BJP), Kanimozhi Karunanidhi (DMK), Supriya Sule (NCP), and Shrikant Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena).

The initiative follows the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people lost their lives. India responded with Operation Sindoor, launching precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) on May 7, reportedly killing over 100 militants.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, overseeing the coordination of this global mission, stated that the delegations would embody a unified national message that rises above political lines. “At a time when clarity and unity are needed most, Bharat will speak with one voice. These delegations reflect the country’s firm resolve against terrorism,” he shared on social media.

According to official sources, each group will consist of 7–8 MPs and visit around four to five nations during the 10-day tour starting May 23. Destinations are expected to include the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, and Japan. Alongside the MPs, notable diplomats and political figures may also join to strengthen India’s diplomatic narrative.

The effort aims to reinforce India’s position on cross-border terrorism, especially the threats stemming from Pakistan, and to foster deeper international cooperation in counter-terror strategies.
