Mumbai, July 18, 2025: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis chaired a review meeting at Vidhan Bhavan on Wednesday to assess the progress of Shirdi and Purandar airport projects. He issued strict directives to expedite works at Shirdi Airport to ensure full operational readiness ahead of the upcoming Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela.

Fadnavis instructed officials to fast-track critical upgrades at Shirdi Airport, including the construction of a new Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, integrated cargo facility, and terminal building. He emphasised that these projects must be completed before the Kumbh Mela and called for additional manpower to speed up the pace of work. Procurement and structural design tasks were directed to be finalised within a week.

Highlighting Shirdi Airport’s proximity to Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, the CM suggested exploring additional land acquisition to create facilities for parking smaller aircraft.
